Terms of Service
Effective May 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and WriteToShelf. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use WriteToShelf.
The service
WriteToShelf provides software tools that help romance authors with publishing tasks such as cover review, blurb analysis, keyword research, and reader-magnet content. The service evolves; we may add, change, or remove features at any time.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials private and for everything done under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Submit content that is hateful, harassing, or that exploits minors.
- Resell or sub-license the service, or share a single account across multiple people.
- Attempt to break, probe, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Use the service to build or train a competing product.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.
Subscriptions and payment
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep access until then.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least thirty days' notice.
The free tier has monthly usage limits per tool. Limits and pricing are listed on our pricing page and may change.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the service (book metadata, cover images, descriptions, generated outputs, and so on). You grant us a limited license to process that content as needed to run the service and return results to you.
Outputs generated for you (such as a draft bonus epilogue or a list of keywords) are yours to use commercially. You are responsible for reviewing them before publishing.
Our content and trademarks
The WriteToShelf name, tool names (such as Romance Radar, Blurb Heat Map, Reader Promise Analyzer), logo, and the software itself are owned by WriteToShelf. You may not copy, reproduce, or use these without our written permission.
Disclaimers
WriteToShelf is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do our best to keep it useful and reliable, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes (such as increased sales, rankings, or readership) and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Tool outputs are suggestions, not professional publishing or legal advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, WriteToShelf is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater.
Termination
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. When your account closes, your access ends and your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflicts of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make meaningful changes we will notify you by email or in the app. Continued use after the effective date of the new Terms means you accept them.
